Announcing 2023-2024 Auditions

The Pennsylvania Chamber Orchestra has openings for:

  • Section Violin (5) and subs

    • A movement of a Bach Sonata or Partita for Solo Violin

    • Violin excerpts

      • The Prokofiev Classical Symphony excerpt is required

      • Auditioners may choose two other excerpts

  • Principal Viola, Section Viola (3) and subs

    • A movement from a Bach Suite

    • Viola excerpts

      • The Strauss Don Juan excerpt is required

      • Auditioners may choose two other excerpts

  • Section Cello (1) and subs

    • A movement from a Bach Suite

    • Cello excerpts

      • The Beethoven Fifth Symphony excerpt is required

      • Auditioners may choose two other excerpts

  • Section Bass (1) and subs

    • The exposition of a standard concerto (Bottesini, Vanhal, Dittersdorf, Koussevitzky, etc.) OR a solo piece in Baroque style by Bach, Fryba, or Vanherenthals

    • Bass excerpts

      • The Beethoven Fifth Symphony excerpt is required

      • Auditioners may choose two other excerpts

Principal pay - $60 per service

Section pay - $50 per service
