Claire DeArmitt, Mezzo-Soprano
Claire DeArmitt, mezzo-soprano from Bellwood, Pennsylvania, is an artist who sings with “professionalism and grace.” Most recently, she has performed the roles of Domina in Forum… and Betty Haynes in White Christmas with the Erie Playhouse. She has prepared the title role in Carmen and has been seen as Mother in the workshop performance of Leavings and the Abbess in Suor Angelica with the Penn State Opera Theatre. Ms. DeArmitt was featured as a soloist with the American Institute of Musical Studies (AIMS) Festival Orchestra in Graz, Austria, the Penn State Philharmonic, and the Grove City College Orchestra as the GCC Concerto Competition winner. Additional solo work includes Handel’s Messiah, Duruflé’s Requiem, Pachelbel’s Missa in C, and Vivaldi’s Gloria. Ms. DeArmitt recently completed a Master of Music in Voice Pedagogy and Performance at Penn State and holds a Bachelor of Music in Music Education from Grove City College. Ms. DeArmitt is currently the choral director and theatre co-director at Greenville High School in Greenville, PA, where she also maintains a private voice studio and performance schedule.
