Jim and Barbara Palmer arrived in State College in 1953 as pioneers in the cable television industry.  In years following, the Palmers became known as devoted and generous supporters of the arts in the State College community. Barbara consistently supported the PCO for many years as a concert sponsor, chair sponsor, and faithful audience member.  It was our great pleasure to present her with our “Amadeus Award” to honor her many years of enthusiastic devotion to, and support for the cause of producing professionally-performed orchestral music in Central Pennsylvania. Her efforts have made a profound and positive impact on our organization for which we are most grateful,.

Barbara’s enthusiasm is expressed best in her own words:

“Perhaps my greatest joy comes from experiencing and supporting all of the amazing arts in our community.  I believe that our growth as a community has been seriously impacted by the quality of these performances.  So, it comes naturally to help organizations like PCO so that they can prosper as well.” --Barbara Palmer
